So the annual Met Gala just passed where all the biggest celebrities, designers and models walked the red carpet (well blue carpet this year) into the Metropolitan Museum of Art to showcase their take on this year’s theme of Avant-Garde.
We loved, we hated, we laughed and we cried and we’ve handpicked a few of our fav looks from the glam event of 2017, and how you can recreate them (on a more wearable occassion hehe).
1 | Rihanna
The Met Gala Queen of 2017 was Rihanna. #nuffsaid
Rihanna wore a Comme des Garçon petalled dress paired with some Dsquared2 heels that took her one hour to get into, If that isn’t dedication to fashion I don’t know what is.
We absolutely love her unique look, and apparently so did Gaga, who praised her for her look! Qween RiRi definitely took Avant-Garde to a whole new level, and we have no idea how she pulled off that dress, but she slayed it!
2 | Bella Hadid
20-year old, little sis of Gigi Hadid, killed it in her glittering catsuit, designed by the, one and only, Alexander Wang. Inspired by his late-night-luxe jumpsuits from his Autumn/Winter 2017 collection, he created an intensified version using black lace with allover beading and embroidery all the way down to the shoe, with an off shoulder and deep and daring back plunge!
We are loving the cat woman vibes Bella!
3 | Kendall Jenner
Similarly to Bella, Kendall also went for a black Sheer look, wearing a maxi black mesh dress with nothing but a thong. Designed by luxe lingerie designer La Perla, Kendall absolutely rocked the sharp cut-outs and high slits, showing off them long pins of hers. We love we love!
4 | Cara Delevinge
Cara came straight from the future in a beautiful brocade Chanel pantsuit, paired with her silver painted head to showcase her new buzzcut. Painted head? I know that’s the first time we’ve ever heard of it too, but Cara killed it!
Cara just gave a whole new definition on how to style the pixie cut.
5 | Hailey Baldwin
Baldwin went real bold, channelling Audrey Hepburn at the Met Gala this year. Wearing a blush puffy gown by Carolina Herrera, Hailey rocked the old-school vibe with a classic bun, winged eyeliner and a vintage-inspired net veil.
